An exciting opportunity has become available for a Procurement Manager to join a growing global FMCG business based in Melbourne's western suburbs. Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a broad, hands-on role with the opportunity to shape sourcing strategy, strengthen supplier relationships and deliver meaningful commercial outcomes.
About the role
- Develop sourcing strategies and lead tender processes
- Manage and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers
- Drive cost savings and commercial improvements
- Develop alternative suppliers to strengthen supply continuity
- Establish supplier KPIs and performance reviews
- Work across raw materials, ingredients, packaging, freight, energy and waste
- Balance strategic sourcing with hands-on procurement activity
About you
You will be an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management and commercial negotiations within a manufacturing environment.
Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable, with candidates from dairy, ingredients, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals or other highly regulated industries also encouraged to apply.
- Proven experience delivering cost savings through sourcing and negotiation
- Robust supplier relationship and performance management experience
- Experience managing tenders and strategic sourcing initiatives
- An understanding of supplier qualification and quality requirements, with HACCP/GMP exposure highly regarded
- Strong stakeholder management skills across Operations, Quality, Finance and Technical teams
- A hands-on and pragmatic approach, with the ability to operate autonomously in a lean environment
- The confidence to work across all levels of the organisation
