Job Purpose
Job Purpose Brand Manager – is responsible for driving Twinings’ growth across priority emerging channels, including eCommerce and Out-of-Home (OOH) . Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, this role leads a broad portfolio of brand management activities, spanning portfolio strategy, commercial leadership, innovation, performance analysis, and product change initiatives across Australia and New Zealand.
A key focus of the role is identifying and delivering long-term growth opportunities through innovation. This includes developing channel-specific portfolio strategies across the core range, NPD, gifting, and premium offerings to meet evolving consumer needs.
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded, results-driven marketer who can seamlessly balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution. Robust consumer focus, eCommerce experience, a growth mindset, and the ability to influence and collaborate across teams are critical to success
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Commercial Planning
- Support the SBM in developing longer-term strategic brand plans for Twinings’ growth channels,
including Amazon, OOH and Costco.
- Build deep channel understanding and define how to win across consumer, shopper, customer and company needs.
- Define the optimal five-year sequencing of initiatives across core, NPD, gifting and premium portfolios.
NPD Project Leadership
- Work closely with the local cross‑functional team and NPD team to deliver NPD and product change initiative
- Lead the development of channel‑specific ideas and concepts to unlock growth, leveraging the global pantry and platforms, with bespoke Australian offers developed where required.
- Act as brand lead for the development and in‑market delivery of NPD and product change initiatives.
- Partner with Insights to conduct research that validates NPD opportunities.
- Manage communication and collaboration with NPD Project Managers.
- Lead Gate paper development for key projects, ensuring alignment with the Commercial team.
- Lead development of the gifting, tea merchandise and seasonal ranges to drive recruitment, create new occasions and build brand equity.
Executional Excellence
- Oversee implementation of key NPD and customer marketing initiatives, including target setting, execution planning and post‑implementation analysis.
- Motivate and collaborate across the Commercial team to ensure effective plan implementation.
- Partner with Sales and Category to develop compelling customer presentations and engagement tools that support delivery of the plans.
- Define success measures and apply test‑and‑learn approaches to scale what works and optimise where performance is off track.
- Brief the Connections team on key objectives and partner with them to define the optimal consumer experience.
- Lead commercial forums that align the cross‑functional team and drive strong execution of agreed plans.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualification/License or Registrations
- Tertiary Qualification in Marketing or Business Management
- Relevant experience in Brand Management, ideally with a strong NPD project management background
Professional competencies
- Strong track record of marketing / innovation within the FMCG industry
- Demonstrated experience in developing innovation pipelines and managing innovation funnels.
- Enthused to work on both high‑level strategic projects and also get involved in low‑level/day‑to‑day execution.
- Understanding of, and enthusiasm for small team mentality i.e. high responsibility, accountability and autonomy.
- Knowledge of marketing practice and best practice innovation including agile, design‑led thinking.
- Commercial experience within FMCG, successfully launching NPD.
