Their multidisciplinary team combines clinical, technical, and commercial expertise to accelerate the path from idea to real-world application.

They're seeking a commercially-minded, Head of Finance to join the leadership team in a part time capacity. This is a critical role for a strategic finance professional who can help guide the business through its next phase of growth. You'll provide high-level financial oversight, support key commercial decisions, and work closely with the executive team and Board to drive performance and long-term value creation.

The Head of Finance will supervise accounting duties, including maintaining accurate financial

n

records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, analysing financial data, and assisting with budget preparation. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong organisational and communication skills, and be able to work independently. In addition, the Head of Finance will be a highly adaptable individual ready to face the ever-changing environment of a growing start-up. The Head of Finance will report to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

- Lead financial strategy, forecasting, and planning
n
- Oversee budgeting, cash flow, and management reporting
n
- Support pricing, project costing, and investment analysis
n
- Ensure regulatory and financial compliance
n
- Supervise outsourced bookkeeping and payroll management
n




- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategic initiatives
n
- Prepare board reports and support stakeholder engagement
n
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements regularly
n
- Organize and process payroll via Xero
n
- Process purchase orders and client invoices as required
n
- Conducting audits and implementing recommendations for improvements
n
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings
n
- Support the CEO and the leadership team for strategic planning, capital raise and grant application as required
n

What is Needed for Success:

n

n
- Proven experience as a finance director, controller or head of finance, ideally in high-
n

n

growth or innovation-led sectors

n

n
- Strong commercial acumen and financial modelling capability, acquired in for profit
n

n

revenue-making SME

n

n
- Experience with funding rounds, grant applications, and investor relations a plus
n
- Skilled in navigating project-based environments and scaling operations
n
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and influence at all levels
n
- Collaborative and pragmatic leadership style
n
