The Role
Join our Legal team in North Sydney in a junior legal role supporting the Senior Legal Counsel and Treasury Team on funding and treasury related matters that help Pepper Money grow. Working closely with Treasury and other business teams, you’ll assist with document preparation, transaction coordination, legal research and records management while building your understanding of warehouse facilities, securitisations and other funding arrangements in a supportive team workplace.
- Assist with drafting, reviewing and negotiating NDAs, amendment letters, and other treasury documents under supervision
- Support the Senior Legal Counsel with securitisations, private placements, corporate and syndicated facilities, bond issuances and warehouse transactions
- Assist the Senior Legal Counsel with due diligence, transaction coordination, board papers, approvals and document executionWork with Treasury, Finance, Credit, Risk, Tax and Operations to respond to legal questions and support business projects
- Help maintain and develop templates, precedents and practical guidelines for recurring treasury processes
- Conduct legal research and interpret relevant finance regulations, legislation and listing rules
- Support the Senior Legal Counsel with engagement with external legal counsel, funding partners, investors, trustees and lead arrangers
- Maintain accurate records and help ensure legal work meets internal policies and risk requirements
About you
You’re someone with a Bachelor of Law and can combine attention to detail with a practical, commercially minded approach. You’ll be comfortable learning through hands-on experience, working through detailed documentation and building your knowledge of treasury funding arrangements with support from experienced colleagues.
- Bring one year of post-qualification legal experience
- Demonstrate an interest in banking, finance, lending, mortgages or securitisation
- Strong Microsoft Word skills
- Organise competing tasks and maintain careful document and transaction records
- Analyse complex information and communicate legal concepts clearly
- Build collaborative relationships across legal, treasury and operational teams
- Apply sound judgement while knowing when to seek guidance
- Adapt to changing priorities and approach new work with curiosity and resilience
- Take a proactive, team-focused approach to delivering practical outcomes
- Understand the importance of compliance,
risk awareness and following established policies
