- Manage the fortnightly payroll cycle across permanent, casual, and contract employees
- Interpret and apply Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) to ensure correct payment of entitlements and allowances
- Maintain accurate employee payroll data, including updates to roles, deductions, and classifications
- Review and validate timesheet data
- Calculate payroll tax obligations, superannuation, and statutory contributions
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including site-based teams, to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked
- Ensure all payroll-related payments (super, PAYG, etc.) are processed accurately and on time
Successful Payroll Specialist Should Have
- A proven track record in a similar end-to-end payroll position
- Confident in interpreting EBAs and modern awards
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
