Huon Aquaculture is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to champion our environmental and regulatory obligations across operations. This is a senior role that sits at the intersection of science, strategy, and stakeholder engagement ensuring our practices not only meet regulatory standards but set benchmarks for sustainable aquaculture.

The Role
n
As the Environmental Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in:
n
n
- Overseeing Huon's environmental and regulatory compliance obligations
n
- Managing and evolving our Environmental Management Framework
n
- Advising on regulatory frameworks and identifying risks, challenges, and opportunities
n
- Preparing and presenting reports and documentation for regulators and stakeholders
n
- Leading internal environmental compliance meetings and updates
n
- Supporting community and government engagement on environmental matters
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Maintain and oversee environmental databases, registers, licenses, and documentation
n
- Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance and regulatory breaches
n
- Guide site teams on best practice and improvement opportunities
n
- Lead internal environmental committees and reporting cycles
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies including EPA, Aquaculture Branch, and local councils
n
n
About You
n
You're a confident and collaborative professional with:
n
n
- A degree in Marine Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field
n
- Extensive experience navigating environmental legislation and compliance frameworks
n
- Proven success implementing Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
n
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
n
- The ability to work independently and influence across diverse teams
n
- Aquaculture experience (or a deep understanding of the industry) is highly desirable
n
- A current Driver's Licence and flexibility to travel
n
