The prospect
n
As a Senior Building Site Compliance Officer, you'll play akey role in protecting community safety and amenity across Hobsons Bay. Working within the Planning, Building and Health Services team, you'll undertake site inspections,investigate compliance issues, provide expert advice toindustry stakeholders, and lead complex enforcementmatters. This is an opportunity to apply your regulatoryexpertise, contribute to continuous improvementinitiatives, and help ensure building sites, subdivisionsand public spaces meet legislative and local lawrequirements.

What you'lldo
n
n
- Conductinspections and investigations of building sites andsubdivisions to ensure legislative and local lawcompliance.
n
- Investigate complaints, gather evidence, issueinfringements and prepare prosecution matters whenrequired.
n
- Providespecialist advice, education and technical guidance toresidents, builders, developers and contractors.
n
- Represent Council in complex, sensitive or high-riskcompliance and enforcement matters.
n
- Contribute to process improvement, reporting,compliance programs and mentoring of colleagues.
n
- Participate in after hours and weekend roster work,as required, inspecting building sites for complianceand enforcement, including responding to complex orescalated compliance matters where required.

What you need to succeed
n
n
- Degree,diploma or equivalent qualification in Building,Construction, Compliance, Local Government or relatedfield, or substantial relevant experience.
n
- Strongexperience in inspections, investigations, evidencegathering and enforcement activities.
n
- Soundknowledge of Victorian Building legislation, Local Government legislation and Council Local Laws.
n
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching or supervisoryexperience.
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation andconflict resolution skills.
n
n
