About the role
n
Bring your Frame & Truss knowledge to a role where accurate estimating, commercial thinking and strong relationships directly influence the work we win and the service we provide.
n
Based at our Wacol Frame & Truss site, you'll coordinate competitive commercial estimates that balance customer requirements, market conditions and sustainable margins.
n
You'll work closely with estimating, sales, operations and technical teams, as well as suppliers and customers, to turn construction plans and project information into well-considered quotes.
n
What's involved
n
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
n
n
- Coordinate the estimating workflow, helping the team respond to quote requests accurately and within agreed timeframes.
n
- Prepare commercially sound and market-relevant estimates for residential and commercial Frame & Truss projects.
n
- Review plans, specifications and tender requirements to identify project needs, risks and opportunities.
n
- Partner with sales and operational teams to build a clear understanding of customer priorities, product options and competitive pricing.
n
- Develop productive relationships with suppliers and purchasing teams to strengthen product knowledge and commercial outcomes.
n
- Support customers with complex tender requirements, including larger organisations and government-related projects.
n
- Monitor performance and design information to identify trends and improve estimating outcomes.
n
- Use systems and reporting tools to maintain accurate records, manage priorities and support effective decision-making.
n
- Communicate openly with stakeholders, resolving issues early and keeping commitments on track.
n
- Share your expertise with team members,
helping build capability and consistent estimating practices.
n

About You
n
You enjoy combining technical detail with practical commercial thinking. You can move between plans, pricing, systems and conversations without losing sight of what matters to the customer or the business.
n

You're comfortable working through competing priorities, asking the right questions and constructively influencing stakeholders to reach a sound outcome.

What you'll need
n
n
- Experience working in a Frame & Truss environment, ideally across estimating, detailing or both.
n
- Experience interpreting residential and commercial construction plans and specifications.
n
- A practical understanding of construction methods, project stages and tendering processes.
n
- Experience coordinating workflows and managing customer commitments in a busy operational setting.
n
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to develop accurate and competitive quotes.
n
- Confidence analysing performance, pricing or design information.
n
- Effective communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
n
- Solid attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities.
n
- Experience guiding a team, sharing knowledge and supporting capability development.
n
- Confidence using business systems and Microsoft Office.
n
- Experience with Oracle, COS or commercial CRM platforms would be helpful.
n
