Join City Venue Management (CVM) at Parkinson Aquatic Centre & Health Club in a hands-on 2IC/Team Leader role, working closely with and reporting directly to the Facility Manager.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lifeguard, Duty Manager or aquatic professional who is ready to take their first step into a formal leadership role.
n
You'll work closely with the Facility Manager, lead our team, enhance the customer experience, and ensure every part of the centre operates safely and efficiently.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
- Overseeing pool plant operations, daily checks, and water quality management
n
- Leading lifeguards and duty managers and supporting all staff as part of the leadership team
n
- Monitoring aquatic supervision standards and ensuring safe supervision modes
n
- Supporting the Facility Manager with rostering and administrative tasks
n
- Keeping the venue clean, organised and presented to a high standard
n
- Responding to first aid needs and emergency situations with confidence
n
- Assisting with customer enquiries, complaints and general patron support
n
- Supporting sales activity across Learn To Swim, squads, and memberships
n
- Helping run staff training sessions across aquatic safety, customer service, and pool plant
n
n
About You
n
This hands on role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the pool deck, responding quickly to what the day brings, and keeping our newly upgraded site running at a high standard. You'll also bring:
n
n
- Availability to work at least 1 day at the weekend across opens and closes
n
- A solid understanding of lifeguarding, supervision requirements, and aquatic safety
n
- Solid knowledge of pool plant operations including troubleshooting and corrective action
n
- The ability to work across lifeguarding, duty management, and leadership responsibilities as needed
n
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work positively with staff, patrons, schools and community groups
n
- Excellent time management and the ability to stay organised in a fast paced environment
n
- Previous aquatic or leisure facility experience is preferred
n
