Western District Health Service is seeking a compassionate and organised Meals on Wheels Officer to join the team at Casterton Memorial Hospital.
This rewarding role is responsible for coordinating and supporting the delivery of the Meals on Wheels program, ensuring eligible clients receive nutritious meals and ongoing support within their homes. Working within the Catering Department, you will play a key role in helping members of our community maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection to local services.
In addition to coordinating meal delivery services, you will provide administrative support, assist with stock control processes and work closely with clients, carers, catering staff and the broader healthcare team.
What You'll Be Doing
Meals on Wheels Coordination
Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Meals on Wheels program, ensuring eligible clients receive meals in a timely and efficient manner.
Client Support & Community Connection
Maintain regular contact with clients, monitor wellbeing concerns and liaise with relevant staff when issues or concerns are identified.
Meal Delivery
Coordinate and assist with the delivery of fresh and frozen meals to clients throughout the local community and surrounding areas.
Administrative Support
Manage client records, meal delivery schedules, billing processes, statistical reporting and data entry requirements using relevant software systems.
Stock Control & Catering Support
Assist with ordering, receiving and managing catering stock while supporting the operation of the Catering Department.
Service Improvement
Contribute to maintaining high standards of customer service,
operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the Meals on Wheels service.
What You Bring
- Experience in service delivery coordination, administration or program coordination is desirable but not essential
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
- Strong attention to detail and computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative
- Commitment to providing quality support to older members of the community
- Current Driver's Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Rights to work in Australia
