Position: Chef
Salary: $79,000 to $90,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week

Abbu Catering Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, coordinating kitchen operations and maintaining consistent food and hygiene standards across our catering services.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and develop menus suitable for catering requirements, considering food quality, variety, portion sizes and cost efficiency.
• Estimate food and labour requirements and coordinate the ordering of fresh produce, ingredients and other kitchen supplies.
• Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes, menu specifications and customer requirements.
• Monitor the quality, taste, portioning and presentation of food throughout the preparation and service process.
• Coordinate with management and kitchen staff to ensure catering orders are prepared accurately and within required timeframes.
• Demonstrate appropriate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation and cooking procedures.
• Maintain high standards of food safety,



cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with Australian food safety requirements.
• Monitor food storage, temperature control and stock rotation to minimise waste and maintain freshness.

- Assist with training and supervising kitchen staff to ensure consistent food preparation and service
- standards.

• Assist with the proper storage, preservation and handling of prepared foods where required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen setting at all times.

Qualifications
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not required).
• Diploma of Hospitality (preferred but not required).

Skills & Other Requirements
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef, preferably within a catering or commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple catering requirements.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to food quality, presentation and consistency.
