Lead the maintenance function and build a proactive, predictive culture across a high-performing FMCG operation.

The Company

This well-established manufacturing business has built a strong track record of delivering excellent results through a relentless focus on operational efficiency, cost reduction and plant reliability. With continued investment in the site and a strong focus on driving further improvements across maintenance and engineering, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Reliability Manager to join their team in Brisbane. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the site’s maintenance function, lead a capable team and play a key role in building a more proactive, data-driven and reliability-focused maintenance culture.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Engineering, your responsibilities will include:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive site-wide maintenance strategy, aligned with broader operational and business objectives.
- Lead, develop and embed maintenance strategies across the plant, driving key performance indicators including OEE, equipment reliability, uptime, stoppages and OH&S.;
- Lead and develop the maintenance team, fostering a proactive culture focused on planned and preventative maintenance rather than reactive fault fixing.
- Develop capability across the maintenance team in fault-finding, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fishbone Diagrams and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Take ownership of the full lifecycle management of the site’s asset base, including asset reliability, obsolescence planning and capital upgrades.
- Conduct detailed equipment and performance analysis to identify trends, diagnose recurring issues and predict potential equipment failures before they impact production.
- Partner closely with Production, Engineering and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve plant reliability,



productivity and overall operational performance.

Your Background

In order to be successful in this role, you will be:

- Degree or trade qualified in an engineering discipline, ideally Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar – Required.
- Experienced working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to FMCG or similarly high-volume production.
- Proven in developing and implementing maintenance strategies that transition teams from reactive maintenance towards a proactive and preventative maintenance culture.
- Own and drive the site-wide condition monitoring program, using predictive maintenance techniques to identify emerging equipment issues and improve asset reliability.
- Experienced in Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methodologies, with formal training or practical application of techniques such as 5S, Lean and/or Six Sigma.
- A strong people leader with the ability to develop, coach and engage maintenance teams while driving accountability and performance.
- A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent problem-solving, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to understand the relationship between maintenance performance, plant reliability, cost and production output.
