We're seeking an experienced Operational Training Officer to join our team and deliver and coordinate training and competency programs across a mining operation.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced trainer who is passionate about developing people, maintaining high safety standards and supporting the ongoing capability of the operational workforce.

About the Role

The Operational Training Officer will work closely with operational leaders, supervisors and employees to identify training needs, deliver practical training and assessments, maintain competency and compliance requirements, and support the ongoing development of the workforce.

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience delivering operational training within a mining environment
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
- Relevant Workplace Skills skill sets
- Strong understanding of mining training, competency and compliance requirements
- Experience conducting competency assessments and providing feedback and coaching
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors, operational leaders and employees
- Practical, safety-focused and proactive approach to training
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver training,



assessments and competency programs across site operations
- Conduct competency assessments and provide feedback and coaching to employees
- Support the onboarding and development of new starters, apprentices and trainees
- Maintain training records, competency requirements and compliance documentation
- Develop and update training materials, learning resources and assessment tools
- Work with supervisors and operational leaders to identify capability and training gaps
- Promote safe, compliant and productive work practices through effective training
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of training systems and processes

Requirements

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Relevant Workplace Skills skill sets
- Solid mining industry experience
- Previous experience delivering operational training, assessments and competency programs in mining
- Ability to work effectively within an operational mining environment
- Willingness to complete site requirements, including pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening where required
