Full-time or part-time | $30–$35 per hour + super

Location: Balwyn, Eastern Suburbs, Melbourne
Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Start Date: Immediate

Help our clients feel welcome and our salon run smoothly.

Are you warm, organised and someone who notices what needs doing? Do you enjoy looking after people, working with a team and keeping a busy environment running well?

Skintrition is seeking a Salon Coordinator / Receptionist to manage our front of house and provide practical, everyday support to our therapists, clinicians and salon owners.

This is a wide-ranging, hands-on position combining client care, reception, retail sales, stock management and salon assistance. You will help create a welcoming experience for every client while ensuring our treatment team has the support, supplies and organised environment they need.

About Skintrition

Skintrition is a family-owned skin, body and wellness clinic with more than 40 years in the Balwyn community. We combine advanced treatments with personalised service and genuine care, building lasting relationships with our clients.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in contributing to that experience—from the first phone call to the presentation of our treatment rooms.

Your role

Client care and reception
Welcome clients, assist with enquiries in person, over the phone and by email, and help each visit run smoothly. Manage appointments, confirmations, cancellations and waitlists; process payments and gift vouchers; and maintain accurate, confidential client records. Keep clients and therapists informed of any changes affecting the day’s appointments.

Retail sales and rebooking
Take an active interest in our products and services so you can confidently assist clients, explain promotions and encourage their next booking. Identify appropriate opportunities to upsell products, packages and additional services,

guided by client needs and our therapists’ recommendations. Supporting agreed retail and rebooking goals is part of the role.

Support for therapists and clinicians
Assist with treatment-room preparation and resetting, replenish towels and consumables, and help organise what the team needs between appointments. Anticipate practical requirements and respond promptly so our therapists and clinicians can focus on delivering treatments and caring for their clients.

Cleaning, laundry and salon presentation
Take an active role in keeping the clinic clean, hygienic and inviting throughout the day, in accordance with our hygiene procedures.

Stock and supplies
Receive and check deliveries, unpack and replenish retail and treatment products, keep displays and storage areas organised, assist with stocktakes and monitor supplies. Flag low stock or discrepancies early so the team has what it needs.

Day-to-day business support
Work closely with the salon owners on client follow-ups, administration, promotions and opening and closing routines. Communicate issues promptly, follow through on tasks and use quieter periods to prepare, restock and support the team.

Cleaning, laundry, stock replenishment and room preparation are regular responsibilities, not occasional extras. You should enjoy being involved beyond the reception desk.

What you will bring

- Customer service experience: A background in reception, beauty retail, salon or spa support, hospitality or another busy client-facing environment. Beauty, skincare or wellness experience is highly regarded.

- Organisation and computer confidence:

The ability to manage changing priorities, maintain accurate records and learn booking, payment and stock systems.

- A confident, caring approach to sales: Comfortable discussing products and services, encouraging rebooking and making relevant recommendations without pressuring clients.

- Reliability and initiative: You arrive ready to contribute, take ownership of your work, communicate clearly and willingly help with the practical tasks that support the whole team.

You do not need to perform treatments in this position. You do need a genuine interest in skin, beauty and wellness, a willingness to build your product knowledge and an understanding of when to refer a client’s treatment questions to a qualified therapist or clinician.

What doing this role well looks like

Clients feel welcomed and cared for. Appointments and enquiries are handled accurately. Products and supplies are available, rooms are ready, and the clinic remains clean and well presented.

Our therapists, clinicians and owners can rely on you to follow through, communicate and take initiative—whether that means helping a client choose a product or getting fresh towels ready for the next appointment.

Why join Skintrition?

Work directly with the owners and an experienced treatment team in an established, family-owned business. Enjoy a varied role where you can build client relationships, develop your knowledge of skin and wellness, and make a meaningful contribution to the day-to-day running of the clinic.

Apply now

Please submit your résumé and a brief cover letter explaining your relevant experience and why this combination of client care, sales and hands-on salon support appeals to you.

Include your preferred working hours, availability—including Saturdays—and earliest start date.

We look forward to welcoming someone who cares about our clients, supports our team and takes pride in a job well done.
