Tax Guru Partners is seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant (CA) who holds a current Certificate of Public Practice (CPP) and is currently registered as an individual Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB). The engagement can be structured around agreed hours and responsibilities and may be suitable for an established practitioner looking for an additional professional engagement.

About you
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
Current Certificate of Public Practice (CPP)
Currently registered as an individual Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB)

Mandatory requirements
The successful applicant must hold:
Current Chartered Accountant (CA) membership with CA ANZ
Current Certificate of Public Practice (CPP)
Current individual Registered Tax Agent registration with the TPB
Strong Australian public practice and taxation experience
Experience reviewing tax returns, BAS and financial statements
Ability to provide appropriate supervision and technical oversight of accounting staff
Key responsibilities
The role will include:
Acting as a Supervising Tax Practitioner for the practice
Providing appropriate supervision and oversight of tax agent services
Reviewing and signing off tax compliance work where required
Providing technical guidance on taxation matters
Reviewing income tax returns, BAS and financial statements
Assisting with complex tax and ATO matters
Supporting the practice's quality-management and compliance framework
Periodically reviewing the work performed by accounting staff
Working with management to ensure appropriate professional standards are maintained
Engagement structure
This is a flexible, non-full time engagement.
We are open to:
Part time arrangement
Independent contractor / consultancy arrangement
Versatile remote supervision with agreed attendance or meetings as required
Hours and remuneration negotiated based on the agreed level of involvement
There is no requirement for the successful applicant to work full-time within the office.
