Handyperson

The Trustee for SJ Fairhurst Trust is looking for full time permanent Handyperson to join their team on a full time basis at least 38 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Carry out general maintenance and minor repair work on residential and commercial properties as part of painting, refurbishment and maintenance projects.

· Prepare walls, ceilings, doors, frames, fences and other surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, filling holes and repairing minor surface damage.

· Repair minor damage to walls, plaster, timber, doors, fixtures and other property items before painting or finishing work.

· Carry out minor repairs and adjustments to doors, windows, screens, shelving, gates and other general property fixtures and fittings.

· Assist with painting and refurbishment projects by preparing work areas, protecting surfaces, setting up equipment and completing touch-up and finishing work.

· Measure, cut, fit and replace basic materials used in routine property maintenance and repair work.

· Use hand tools and appropriate power tools to undertake maintenance, repair, preparation and installation tasks safely and effectively.





· Inspect work areas and identify minor maintenance issues, damaged surfaces or fixtures requiring repair, and report matters requiring specialist attention.

· Clean and restore work areas after maintenance and painting activities, remove waste, and maintain tools, equipment and materials in valuable working condition.

Requirements and Skills:

· At least 1 year of experience required in the relevant handyperson, property maintenance, or painting support role.

· Demonstrate good practical, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills, with the ability to work safely and efficiently.

· Show quick thinking and adaptability when handling different maintenance, repair, surface preparation, and painting-related tasks.

Salary offered: $70,000 - $90,000

Type of Contract: Full time, at least 38 hours/week.
