Role Overview: As a High Voltage Protection Technician at Nilsen, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our diverse client’s high voltage systems. You'll be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining protection systems for high voltage equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting routine inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Primary injection tests
Secondary injection tests
Routine Omicron testing
High voltage coordination & switching
Installation, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of high voltage equipment & protection systems.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to high voltage equipment and protection systems.
Collaborating with Nilsen & local engineering teams to implement current systems and upgrades.
Documenting all maintenance and testing activities accurately.
Requirements:
Proven experience,
ideally 5-10yrs, working with high voltage protection systems.
In-depth knowledge of HV electrical networks, protection systems & devices, and relevant safety regulations.
HV switching & coordination experience (desired but not mandatory).
Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving in high voltage environments.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Relevant certifications and qualifications (desired but not mandatory).
