About the role

We require an experienced infrastructure engineer for cloud migration and legacy platform retirement work across its enterprise customer base. Most of these customers finished the easy part of their cloud journey years ago and are now dealing with what's left behind — on-premises servers, services and dependencies nobody has been willing to switch off. Initial [three] month engagement with strong potential for extension, [Sydney-based / remote with occasional site attendance].

What you'll be doing
Designing and delivering migration of remaining workloads to cloud and SaaS equivalents
Planning and executing decommissioning end to end — dependency removal, directory and identity cleanup, DNS, certificates, and protected shutdown of redundant infrastructure
Producing the artefacts customers actually need: current-state assessment, target-state design, effort estimate, cutover and rollback plan, as-built documentation
Supporting scoping and estimation alongside the pre-sales and delivery teams
Keeping stakeholders and the project manager informed at all times





What we need from you
Robust hands-on Microsoft infrastructure background — Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Entra ID and directory sync
Demonstrated experience retiring legacy platforms, not just migrating off them: you know why the last server always stays, and how to deal with it
Experience with Microsoft Exchange migrations to cloud platforms
Understanding of how applications, devices and services consume shared infrastructure
Comfortable in a hybrid cloud setting — AWS migration experience highly preferred
PowerShell and scripted, repeatable change
Clear written and verbal communication with both engineers and senior stakeholders
