Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a
Clinical Nurse
to work within our
Orthopaedics
team.
This position will be employed on a
Temporary part time
basis – 36 hours per week.
This position is a maternity leave cover and will run for the duration of 9 months commencing in November.
Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.
Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport.
This facility was established in **** and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation
and
access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse within Orthopaedics, you will provide advanced nursing care and clinical leadership to support safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering evidence-based nursing care across the patient journey, from admission through to discharge




Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans
Collaborating closely with medical, allied health, and nursing colleagues to optimise patient outcomes
Supporting patient education, informed consent, and advocacy throughout treatment and recovery
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives, safety standards, and best-practice clinical outcomes
Providing clinical guidance, support, and mentorship to less experienced staff as required
About you
You are a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
You will bring:
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
A minimum of three years' post-registration clinical experience, ideally within orthopaedics or an acute surgical setting
Robust clinical assessment, communication, and care coordination skills
A commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and Mater's values and behavioural standards
The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing clinical priorities
Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty (desirable, but not essential)
