About the role The role involves managing the company's food safety and quality management system to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance and to meet customer requirements.

Key responsibilities
Maintain business food safety and quality certification including HACCP, SQF and Primesafe and compliance to customer specific standards
Continuous improvement of food safety and quality management system including implementation of necessary policies and procedures to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance
Manage vendor assurance program to ensure both local and international suppliers supply secure and quality products as per customer requirements
Manage customer complaint process including monitoring, investigating, identifying root cause, trending and reporting
Build relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) by regularly communicating in matters relating to food safety, quality and seafood sustainability
Keep product specification updated and ensure products are assessed for compliance to specification including microbiological testing, chemical testing and organoleptic assessments
Approval and verification of artwork and packaging to ensure compliance with FSANZ Food Labelling laws




Provide technical input into Recent Product Development process to ensure product conformance to legislative, regulatory and customer requirements
Management of sustainable seafood through assessment of species to determine sustainability status
Work with procurement to source sustainable seafood and ensure chain of custody for identification and traceability

About you
Degree or equivalent in Food Technology/Science or other relevant discipline
Significant experience in vendor assurance management in manufacturing or retail industries, preferably more than 3 years industry experience
Comprehensive understanding of the requirements in the FSANZ Food Standards Code and relevant legislations
Knowledge in Food Safety and Quality Standards e.g. SQF, HACCP
Knowledge of seafood industry especially sustainable seafood
Computer literate and proficient in using internet team-oriented specification systems
Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Mandarin
Highly developed planning, organising and project management skills
Ability to manage and resolve conflicts amicably and professionally
Commercial astuteness with ability to work at pace with stakeholders at all levels across the business
