About the role
Mindful Pathways Support is looking for a Disability Support Worker with genuine experience supporting people living with psychosocial disability and mental health-related support needs. The approach is psychology-informed, not clinical, focusing on building trust, consistency and independence through everyday support. This role would suit someone who is calm, emotionally mature and confident supporting people who may experience anxiety, emotional dysregulation, social isolation, changes in motivation or difficulty maintaining everyday routines.
Key responsibilities
Provide one-to-one support in participants' homes and in the community
Support daily routines and independent living skills
Facilitate community access and meaningful participation
Build trusting and appropriate skilled relationships
Support participants through periods of emotional distress in a calm and respectful way
Follow individual support plans and strategies
Work alongside participants' allied health teams where required
Complete clear, accurate progress notes and report concerns appropriately
Maintain professional boundaries, dignity, privacy and participant choice
About you
Previous experience supporting people with psychosocial disability or mental health-related needs
A calm, patient and emotionally grounded approach
Solid spoken and written English communication skills
Confidence communicating with participants, families and other professionals
Good judgement and the ability to work independently
A genuine understanding of person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed support
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Current First Aid and CPR
Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Relevant disability, mental health or community services qualifications are highly regarded
