We are driven by passion and purpose, and we never stop.About the roleTeam Global Express is seeking an experienced Dispatch Officer to join our Courier Operations team based in Port Melbourne, VIC.This is a full-time permanent opportunity where you will play a key role in coordinating our fleet, allocating pickups and deliveries and supporting drivers to ensure we provide an efficient and reliable service to our customers.You will work in a quick-paced transport environment where strong communication, organisation and the ability to make quick decisions are essential.What you'll doCoordinate and allocate daily pickup and delivery runs across the fleetAllocate jobs to drivers using our computerised dispatch systemPlan and route deliveries to ensure effective and timely serviceMonitor drivers and ensure permanent runs and backup coverage are in placeCommunicate with drivers regarding run requirements, changes and prioritiesKeep customers and internal teams updated on delays or operational issuesAccept and book jobs, ensuring all information is entered accuratelyMaintain driver hours, waiting times and job adjustmentsAssist with vehicle requirements and fleet capacity planningPrepare safe driving plans for regional deliveries when requiredComplete transport compliance and safety-related tasksBuild strong working relationships with drivers, contractors, customers and internal teamsWhat you'll bringPrevious experience in dispatch, fleet allocation,



transport coordination or a similar transport operations roleExperience allocating vehicles and coordinating driversGood understanding of transport operations and Chain of Responsibility requirementsKnowledge of different vehicle types and their capabilities is highly regardedStrong computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeGood geographical knowledge of Melbourne and surrounding areasStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to prioritise and make decisions in a busy, time-critical environmentStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsA proactive, hands-on approach and ability to work autonomouslyPrevious transport operations experience is preferred, with a relevant logistics qualification also highly regarded.Why TGEWe care about our customers, our people and our planet.
