Deadline: 1 Oct 2026, 11:59 pm The Community Engagement Officer is part of the headspace Armadale team which is primarily a mental health promotion role.
The Community Engagement
Officer purpose is to raise awareness and skill of mental wellbeing in the community, promote headspace services, and help young people access early intervention services internally and externally. This includes young people who have or may be at risk of developing a mental health and/or substance use disorder or who have economic or social challenges.
The Community Engagement Officer works towards building community capacity by connecting young people, families, and friends by providing accessible and current information to build personal skill and knowledge about mental well-being and supports when needed. They will also help to increase community awareness of mental health issues among young people, facilitate youth and where relevant family participation, organise,
and deliver health promotion activities and community events to engage identified target populations.
The Community Engagement Officer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be an experienced skilled with considerable knowledge and experience in community engagement and youth advocacy. They will work collaboratively with all staff located at the headspace Armadale to help ensure the centre delivers youth-focussed services to young people.
This is a part time position, equivalent to 0.4 FTE. Applications are encouraged from Health Promotion and Public Health students who have completed at least 50% of their degree.
