As a Cable Jointer Apprentice, you will work towards obtaining a Nationally recognised Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Underground (UET*****).
You will work alongside experienced tradespeople while developing the technical knowledge and practical skills required to become a qualified tradesperson:Gain knowledge in the laying, installation and maintenance of low and high voltage underground electrical cables and equipmentNominal term for this qualification is 48 monthsAbout the Apprenticeship4-year structured apprenticeship programOn-the-job learning with qualified tradespeopleFormal technical training and assessmentsNationally recognised trade qualificationWhat We OfferBy joining Western Power,

It is highly desirable for candidates to have obtained Cert II in Engineering foundations | Electrotechnology prior to applying.Must be 18 years or older to apply for these positionsHave obtained a "C" class drivers licenceHave completed minimum of Year 10 secondary education with English and Mathematics skills (depending on your apprenticeship)Be physically fit and carry the ability to lift heavy equipmentBe willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessmentBe willing to/have obtained a range of high-risk licensingBe willing to work shift consisting of a 75-hour fortnight (overtime may be applicable,



roster days off applicable)Be willing to work and travel in remote locations pending on your work rotations, including travelling to attend TAFE and external training coursesThe ability to interpret complex instructions, designs and diagramsThe ability to operate large equipment such as elevated work platforms and hydraulic drillsUnderstanding the ApprenticeshipBefore applying, it is important to understand what an apprenticeship with Western Power involves.
