SSO Handling & Storage is looking for a reliable, hands-on person to join our Queanbeyan installation team.We work across commercial, industrial and warehouse environments throughout Canberra, NSW and regional areas.
Our projects include commercial fit-outs, furniture and FF&E; installation, warehouse storage systems, specialist equipment, custom fabrication, repairs, relocations and project work.Pallet racking and storage systems make up a significant part of what we do, but this is not a racking-only role.One week might involve a warehouse installation.
The next could include commercial furniture, custom equipment, repairs, workshop preparation or a regional project.
What you'll be doing Installing commercial and industrial equipmentFurniture and FF&E; installationInstalling pallet racking, shelving and storage systemsMeasuring, marking out and setting up installation areasDrilling concrete and installing mechanical anchorsReading layouts, drawings and installation instructionsLoading, delivering and unloading materialsPreparing jobs and equipment in our Queanbeyan workshopAssisting with custom fabrication and project-specific solutionsEquipment relocations, repairs and minor rectification workAssisting with mezzanine, handrail and fit-out projectsTaking QA photos and completing basic job documentationWorking directly with customers and other contractorsOccasional regional travel and overnight work Who we're looking for You do not need previous racking experience.We're interested in people from backgrounds such as:ConstructionCommercial fit-outShopfittingFurniture or cabinet installationMechanical installationMaintenanceFabricationTrade assistant workWarehouse equipment installationRacking and shelvingYour exact job title matters less than whether you are practical, reliable and comfortable using tools.You should be:Confident using hand and power toolsAble to measure accuratelyPractical and comfortable solving problemsPhysically capable of installation workReliable and able to work within a small teamProfessional when dealing with customersWilling to learn different systems and types of workAble to take responsibility for the quality of your work Essential Current driver's licenceAustralian working rightsConstruction White Card, or willingness to obtain one promptlyReliable transport to our Queanbeyan workshopSteel-cap safety footwear Helpful but not essential Forklift licenceWorking at HeightsEWP licenceAsbestos AwarenessSilica AwarenessMR or HR licencePrevious construction, installation, fit-out or racking experienceWe can arrange relevant training for the right person.
