CM Group (NSW) Pty Ltd is a well-established subcontractor specialising in internal partitions, ceilings, fit-out packages, and external cladding systems across large-scale commercial construction projects throughout NSW.
Working alongside Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, we deliver multiple project packages typically ranging from $1M to $5M within the Residential, Industrial, Education, Data Centres, Fit Out, Public Space, and Healthcare sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Contracts Administrator to join our team based in Mascot, NSW.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than just a desk-based administration role.
You will be given the opportunity to run projects end-to-end, build client relationships, develop technical expertise, and grow into a key member of our business.
A Role With a Design & Construct Edge, This isn't just contract administration.
You'll be involved in the technical and design side of our projects — reviewing and developing partition, ceiling, soffit and cladding designs, assessing buildability, and finding smarter, more cost-effective ways to build.

What You'll Be Doing Working closely with the Directors, Senior Management and Project Managers, you will: - Manage projects from contract award through to completion - Review,
assess and develop design solutions for partition, ceiling, soffit and cladding systems - Assess buildability of designs and propose practical construction methodologies - Identify value engineering opportunities — alternative products, systems or methods that reduce cost or improve programme without compromising design intent - Review architectural and engineering drawings, identify discrepancies, and coordinate or prepare drawing amendments and shop drawings as required - Maintain and update project and contract documentation - Prepare and administer contract variations, extensions of time and contractual correspondence - Monitor project milestones, procurement activities and delivery deadlines - Measure, quantify and order materials - Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and site teams - Assist with cost control, forecasting and reporting - Liaise with builders, consultants and client representatives - Attend project meetings and provide technical support to stakeholders - Assist with tender preparation and pricing submissions - Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures and relevant legislation - Support junior team members with technical and project-related queries What We're Looking For - Minimum 3 years' experience as a Contracts Administrator,
Project Engineer or similar role within the construction industry - A Relevant Diploma or higher qualification in construction management, project management, contract management or a related field.
- Experience working for a subcontractor, builder or specialist contractor - Experience with commercial construction projects - Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously - Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment Highly Regarded - Experience delivering internal partitions, ceilings, fit-out, facades or external cladding packages - Experience preparing tenders and pricing variations - Experience reading and interpreting BASIX, Acoustics, Section J, and other technical reports What's On Offer - Genuine career progression into a Project Management position - Genuine input into design and construction methodology decisions - Direct mentoring from experienced Directors, Senior Management and Project Managers - Opportunity to take ownership of projects and client relationships - Diverse and challenging commercial projects - Supportive and collaborative team environment - Long-term career chance with a growing business - Competitive salary package based on experience Salary Range: - $80,000-$110,000 plus superannuation.
