Job Description
As our#AAAteam continues to grow, we're looking for aPsychosocial/Mental Health Occupational Therapistto support participants across theNewcastle, Hunter&Central; Coastregion, with the flexibility to work close to home.
In this role, you'll empower and advocate for people living with psychosocial disability and mental health challenges.
Using a recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach, you'll support participants to achieve their goals, build independence, and enhance their wellbeing.
You will:
Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
Assess participants' developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals
Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA
Passionate about community‐based support for people with disability




Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
Time management & organisational skills to manage wide-ranging caseload
