About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Australian Finance team.
This is a key role supporting theaccuracy,integrityandinsight behind our financial reporting.
You will take ownership of core financial accounting activities, including month-end and year-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, cashflow support,complianceactivitiesandfinancial analysis.
Working closely withthe Finance Manager,CFOand business stakeholders, you will act as a trusted finance partner to the Operations,Warehousing,LogisticsandInventory teams.
You will provide meaningfulanalysis,identifycostandprocess improvement opportunities, and help strengthen controls across the business.
As the local market ERP super user, you will also playan significant rolein improvingsystems,processesandreporting capability across the Australian business.
Key responsibilities
Own the accuracy and integrity of general ledger reconciliations across the balance sheet and profit and loss.
Complete month-end and year-end accounting activities, including journals,reconciliations,reportingandanalysis.
Prepare meaningful financial analysis and commentary on operating performance, overhead spend, variances and project financials.




Partner with Operations,Warehousing,LogisticsandInventory teams to provide cost insights and support better commercial decision-making.
Support cashflow management and liaise with Treasury and head office teams asrequired.
Manage intercompany payments,recharges,reconciliationsandstakeholder communications.
Maintain and strengthen financialcontrols,processesandprocedures in line with group policies.
Review accountingsystems,processesandprocedures, recommending improvements whererequired.
Support inventory-related financial processes,costing,reconciliationsandissue resolution.
Assistwith taxation and compliance requirements, including BAS, FBT and income tax return preparation.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and coordinate audit requirements with business stakeholders.
Investigate and resolve reconciliation variances, driving improvements inquality,timelinessandefficiency.
Document key financial processesandmaintainknowledgemanagement materials.
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc finance projects.
About you
You are a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business,improvingprocessesandturning financial information into practical insights.
You will bring:
Minimum3+ years' relevant corporate accounting experience, ideally within an inventory, distribution, retail,logisticsor medium-to-large commercial environment.
CPA,CAor equivalent qualification.
Strong financial accounting capability, including balance sheet reconciliations, month-endreportingand application of accounting standards.
Experience with company tax requirements, including BAS,



FBT and income tax.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret results, explain variances and prepare clear financial reports.
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large ERP systems; JD Edwards or similar experience highly regarded.
Experience with BI or reporting tools would beadvantageous.
Inventory costing and distribution experience highly regarded.
A continuous improvement mindset, with the abilitytoidentifyopportunitiesto improveprocesses,controlsandbusiness performance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders across finance and non-finance teams.
Excellent attention to detail, strongorganisationalskillsandthe ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Aproactive,collaborativeandsolutions-focused approach, witha strong senseof ownership.
