Job Summary
IIQAF Group is seeking a skilled, reliable, and safety-focusedBuilding Maintenance Technicianto support the maintenance and smooth operation of hospital and healthcare facilities in Sydney.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and general building services to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, clean, and compliant with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dailybuilding maintenance, facilities maintenance, and repair activitiesacross hospital and healthcare facilities.
Conduct preventive and scheduled maintenance of building systems, equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues.
Inspect buildings, plant rooms, equipment, facilities, and service areas to identify maintenance requirements.
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, breakdowns, faults, and facility emergencies.
Follow hospital infection control, hygiene, safety, and environmental procedures when performing maintenance work.
Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance materials in an organized and safe condition.
Assist with emergency maintenance, urgent repairs, and building service disruptions when required.
Conduct routine safety inspections and report hazards, defects, and compliance concerns to management.
Support energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and preventative maintenance initiatives.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures, risk assessments,
safe work practices, and applicable Australian regulations.
Maintain professional communication with hospital staff, patients, contractors, and other facility users.
Required Qualifications
Certificate, Diploma, trade qualification, or relevant technical qualification inBuilding Maintenance, Facilities Management, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related fieldis preferred.
Previous experience as aBuilding Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician, Maintenance Officer, Facilities Maintenance Technician, Building Services Technician, or Hospital Maintenance Technicianis preferred.
Experience in hospitals, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, hotels, aged care facilities, or large-scale properties is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, organizational, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to respond to urgent maintenance requests and work effectively under pressure.
Willingness to work flexible hours, shifts, weekends, on-call periods, and public holidays when required.
