About the role

Midas Reynella Tyre & Auto is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive
Technician/Mechanic
to join our team in Reynella, SA. This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to take on a leadership role within our automotive service centre. As a Senior Automotive
Technician/Mechanic,
you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical repairs and maintenance services whilst mentoring junior staff and contributing to the overall excellence of our workshop operations. This role is based on-site at our Reynella location, where you'll work with modern diagnostic equipment and a diverse range of vehicle types.

Key responsibilities
n
Perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments and repairs on vehicles, including engine work, transmission, suspension, braking systems and electrical components
n
Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and general vehicle inspections
n
Utilise computerised diagnostic equipment and specialised tools to identify and resolve mechanical faults efficiently
n
Mentor, train and supervise junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical procedures
n
Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, maintaining detailed service records and documentation
n
Liaise with customers to explain repair requirements, timelines and associated costs in a clear and professional manner
n
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing professional development
n
Assist in stock management for parts and equipment as required
n
What we're looking for
n
A minimum of 5+ years' experience as an automotive technician or mechanic in a professional workshop workplace
n




Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle makes and models
n
Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment and computer-based vehicle systems
n
Relevant qualifications such as an AQF Level 3 or 4 in Automotive Service or equivalent trade qualification
n
A current valid driver's licence (manual transmission experience is essential)
n
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop team members
n
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
n
Outstanding communication abilities and a customer-focused mindset
n
Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, engine management and safety systems is highly valued
n
