Student Co-op Position (starting January ****)

CLAC has a full-time, eight-month Co-op placement prospect.
This is available for a student who is enrolled in a Co-op Program at a post-secondary education institution, returning to full-time studies, and is interested in the following areas: Labour Relations, Human Resources, Research, and Marketing/Communications.
Although students will spend time with a variety of departments, this position focuses on Labour Relations.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate an interest in learning about and/or working in Labour Relations.
Duties
Job duties will focus on various functional areas outlined below.
Labour Relations
Supporting representatives in negotiations, conflict resolution, labour-management meetings, organizing, and special projects
Human Resources
Supporting HR and payroll projects and initiatives
Assisting with recruitment processes, including creating job postings as necessary
Research
Responding to research assignments and inputting data into research databases
Research for projects with various departments
Marketing & Communications
Designing, researching and printing materials as needed for CLAC publications
Working on projects, marketing and social media communications
Qualifications/Skills
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Positive attitude
Demonstrable organizational and administrative skills
Ability to prioritize and work independently
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and SharePoint




Customer service experience would be an asset
This position also involves travel primarily within Ontario
Term and Compensation
This is a contract position, beginning January **** until August ****.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
The rate of pay is $***** per hour.
The candidate must have access to a reliable automobile.
Business mileage and expenses are reimbursed.
Location
The position will primarily be at our Cambridge Member Centre.
