About the Role
n
As a Birth Suite Midwife, you will play a key role in supporting women and their families throughout their birthing journey. Working alongside experienced obstetricians, midwives, nurses and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will provide safe, evidence-based and personalised maternity care.
n
Your responsibilities will include
n
n
Providing high-quality, woman-centred midwifery care throughout labour, birth and the immediate postnatal period
n
Supporting women to achieve their individual birth preferences and goals
n
Undertaking comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments
n
Managing low-risk labour and recognising and responding appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal wellbeing
n
Supporting women experiencing complex pregnancies and births in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
n
Assisting with vaginal and operative births, including emergency situations
n
Promoting a positive, respectful and empowering birth experience
n




Providing education, reassurance and emotional support to women and their families
n
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, professional standards and legislation
n
Participating in clinical handover, education, quality improvement and professional development activities
n

What We're Looking For
n
We are looking for midwives who are:
n
n
Registered Midwives with AHPRA
n
Experienced in Birth Suite and maternity care
n
Confident in the assessment and management of women throughout labour and birth
n
Calm, compassionate and confident in emergency situations
n
Committed to evidence-based practice and clinical excellence
n
Excellent communicators who work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
n
Dedicated to providing respectful, culturally sensitive and family-centred care
n
Positive, professional and passionate about making a difference to women and their families
n
n
Previous private maternity experience will be highly regarded but is not mandatory.
n
