About the Opportunity
Mercury Marine is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness Leader to provide strategic people leadership across Australia, NewZealand and the broader AsiaPacific business.
Reporting to the General Manager ANZP & Asia, this senior leadership role serves as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, driving people, culture and organizational effectiveness initiatives that support business performance, workforce capability and sustainable growth.
You will lead the development and execution of workforce strategies across talent management, organizational design, employee and industrial relations, leadership development, succession planning and organizational change.
Working closely with business leaders, you will help shape a high-performing culture while ensuring compliance, governance and effective HR service delivery across the region.
This role is based in Dandenong, Victoria and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on organizational performance while leading a dedicated Human Resources function.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Human Resources Leadership Partner with the General Manager and Leadership Team to develop and implement people strategies aligned to business objectives.
Provide strategic advice on workforce planning, leadership development, talent management and organizational effectiveness.
Contribute to key business decisions by delivering expert people and culture insights.
Drive initiatives that support workforce capability, employee engagement and sustainable business growth.




Organizational Effectiveness & Workforce Planning Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure organizational capability meets current and future business needs.
Drive organizational design, restructuring and change management programs.
Standardize people management practices across the ANZP and broader business operations.
Utilize workforce data and insights to support effective business decision-making.
Strengthen leadership accountability and organizational performance.
Employee & Industrial Relations Provide expert guidance on employment legislation, industrial instruments and workplace relations matters.
Lead the management of complex employee and industrial relations issues.
Support leaders in performance management, investigations and workforce change initiatives.
Maintain positive relationships with unions and employee representatives.
Ensure compliance with Australian and NewZealand employment legislation and minimize employment risk.
Leadership Development & Talent Management Develop and implement leadership development and succession planning strategies.
Identify and support high‐potential employees through targeted development initiatives.
Build organizational capability through talent management programs.
Strengthen leadership effectiveness across all levels of the business.
Drive employee retention and career development opportunities.
Performance Management & Workforce Capability Lead the organization's performance management framework.
Support leaders to establish clear expectations and accountability measures.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning and professional development.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding and workforce development programs.
Ensure the business attracts, develops and retains high-quality talent.
Employee Engagement, Compliance & HR Operations Lead employee engagement and internal communication initiatives.
Oversee HR operations, governance, payroll oversight and reporting processes.
Develop and maintain HR policies,



procedures and governance frameworks.
Ensure effective HR administration, compliance and record management.
Partner with leaders to support workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.
What you will bring
10+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
Demonstrated success in a senior Human Resources Business Partner, HR Manager or equivalent leadership role.
Strong Employee Relations and Industrial Relations experience.
Experience working with Enterprise Agreements, workplace bargaining and employment legislation across Australia and NewZealand.
Proven experience leading organizational redesign, workforce planning, restructuring and change initiatives.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to align people strategies with business outcomes.
Demonstrated success in talent management, succession planning, leadership development and organizational capability building.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and coaching skills.
Strong analytical and problem‐solving capabilities with a data‐driven approach to decision‐making.
High levels of professionalism, integrity and discretion.
Desirable
Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, Employment Relations, Psychology, Law or a related discipline.
AHRI Membership and/or qualified certification.
Experience within manufacturing, distribution, logistics, industrial or multi‐site environments.
Experience supporting geographically dispersed workforces.
Exposure to regional or international business operations.
