Security Officer is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, at the Community.
The Security Officer is expected to use communication, observation, conflict prevention and de-escalation as primary approaches when dealing with incidents.
The role has a strong community focus and requires building respectful relationships with residents while maintaining professional boundaries, applying policies consistently and promoting safety without unnecessarily escalating situations.
Skills & Attributes Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
Calm and confident approach when dealing with difficult or unpredictable situations.
Ability to use de-escalation and problem-solving techniques.
Good judgement and ability to determine when matters need to be escalated.
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Physically capable of conducting regular patrols and responding to incidents.
Able to prepare explicit,
factual and accurate written incident reports.
Professional and able to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
Patient, culturally aware and community focused.
Able to build respectful relationships without compromising security responsibilities.
Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in security, community safety, night patrol, loss prevention or a comparable role.
Any security license or authorisation legally required to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to prepare clear written reports and maintain accurate records.
Ability to work rostered hours, including evenings, nights and weekends.
Current driver's license.
Currently living in RAES Region 2 Coolgardie, Kambalda, Norseman
