About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Violence Applicant Practitioner (FVAP) to join our specialist family violence team.
Working alongside Family Violence Registrars, Respondent Practitioners and key court stakeholders, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing family violence and helping improve safety outcomes for women, children and families.
The Family Violence Applicant Practitioner (FVAP)



plays a vital role in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria's response to family violence andwill provide expert support to people experiencing family violence while contributing to a coordinated court response that prioritises safety, accountability and access to justice.
Working directly with victim survivors attending court, you will apply your specialist family violence knowledge to assess risk, develop safety plans, provide crisis support and connect clients with services that promote their immediate and ongoing safety.
Through this work, you will help enhance outcomes for women, children and families affected by family violence while supporting a court environment that holds perpetrators accountable for their actions.
Other responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive MARAM-aligned risk assessments and safety planning
Providing crisis intervention, information, support and referrals
Linking clients with housing, counselling, legal, financial, AOD, mental health and other community services
Working collaboratively with court staff, legal practitioner s, police and community agencies
Supporting safe and informed pathways through the family violence court process
Maintaining accurate client records and contributing to service improvement initiatives

About You
Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology,



social sciences, or related field, in addition to demonstrated strong experience working with people who have experienced family violence.
Demonstrated experience completing comprehensive MARAM aligned risk assessments and safety planning.
Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of support, crisis containment, risk assessment, and case coordination.
Demonstrated understanding of the Family Violence Protection Act ****, risk assessment and management framework and Victoria Police Code of Practice.
