About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join the Specialised Rehabilitation Program (SRP).
The Allied Health Assistant working under the supervision and guidance of an Allied Health professional is required to assist with provision of quality, evidence based, patient centred care, in partnership with patients and their significant others.
AHA's are required to provide best care through use of competent clinical skills, effective communication and active participation within the Allied Health discipline/service and multidisciplinary team.
Interventions are delivered via individual or group-based treatment.
There may be opportunities to develop skills in aquatic rehabilitation.
Treatment may be provided in a centre-based, home or community setting via face-to-face care or telehealth.
Key responsibilities
Assist clinicians to implement healthcare activities as required, including for patients with more complex or variable needs
Safely and effectively carry out own role and responsibilities relating to the implementation of a care / management plan/intervention within delegation parameters
Deliver individual and group-based programs as directed and within scope to meet patient needs and goals
Recognise and promptly report changes in the health and functional status of the patient to the supervising AHA, including identifying potential risks and escalating appropriately
Engage team members and other relevant healthcare professionals in the development and implementation of strategies that meet specific patient care needs, including coordinating aspects of care as delegated
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate client care, and proactively contribute to team discussions regarding client progress and service delivery
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and client records, ensuring a high standard of detail and compliance




Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, funding guidelines, service standards and contractual obligations
About you
Allied Health Assistant Certificate III or other appropriate qualification, as specified within the employment agreement
Computer literacy and proficiency
Current Victorian Drivers Licence
Ability to work within scope of practice guidelines but also able to demonstrate initiative
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Confidence in a water-based environment (Hydrotherapy pool)
