What we're looking for: A recognised Cert III or Diploma qualification in Early Childhood (ACECQA recognised) Prior experience working within a Montessori-aligned environment, or a genuine passion for and understanding of Montessori philosophy and practice A genuine respect for children and an appreciation of their individual development, interests, independence, and capabilities A calm, patient and responsive approach to supporting children's learning and development Current WWC + First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis Asthma (or willingness to obtain) Current Mandatory Reporting for Early Childhood and National Child Safety Training Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
Previous experience in a childcare/early learning setting is essential, ideally within Montessori philosophy Punctuality, flexibility and a proactive, positive attitude Access to your own vehicle and a willingness to travel up to 45 minutes A minimum of 3 days availability across Monday-Friday and the ability to work long day care hours where required Key duties: Support children to engage in meaningful, purposeful and hands-on Montessori learning experiences Foster children's independence by encouraging them to make choices, develop practical life skills and take responsibility for their learning and environment Support and contribute to educational programs that reflect Montessori principles and the EYLF Respectfully observe children and respond to their individual interests, developmental needs and emerging capabilities Help maintain a calm, orderly and thoughtfully prepared learning environment that encourages exploration and independence Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues Ensure the health, safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children in your care at all times Maintain accurate records of children's development, observations and learning experiences, where required Collaborate and communicate respectfully and effectively with coworkers, families and the wider community Desired Skills Experience: Passionate about Montessori Education and children's learning, development and independence A genuine belief in children as capable, curious and active participants in their own learning Understanding of child-led learning, respectful guidance, observation and the importance of the prepared environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A calm,
patient and respectful approach to working with children A consistent willingness to get stuck in and show initiative Ability to work effectively as part of any team while also working confidently and independently Strong understanding of EYLF, VEDYLF and Child Safety Standards Flexibility and adaptability to work in a casual capacity Commitment to ongoing professional development and deepening your understanding of Montessori-aligned practice Why work with Tradewind?
