Georges River Council has an excellent opportunity for an arboriculture professional to make an immediate impact on the sustainable management of urban trees in a growing city our local environment.
Are you passionate about urban trees and their role in creating vibrant, sustainable communities? As aTree Management Officer at Georges River Council, you'll play a vital role in the planning, assessment, and care of our urban forest. From evaluating private tree permit applications to responding to community service requests, you'll be the go‐to expert for all things arboriculture.
In this dynamic role, you'll conduct tree risk assessments, investigate incidents involving public trees, and contribute to the development of proactive planting and maintenance programs. You'll also maintain Council's tree asset inventory, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and provide expert advice to both internal teams and the public. Working closely with the Tree Maintenance team, you'll help deliver high‐quality arboricultural services that align with Council's Tree Management Policy and industry best practices.
What we Offer
Permanent, Full-Time - 76 hours per fortnight
Salary from $94,******- $108,****** per annum plus 12% superannuation

What We Are Looking For




Relevant Tertiary qualifications in arboriculture AQF5 or currently undertaking
Class C Drivers Licence
Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in the assessment of tree health and structural condition
Demonstrated extensive experience in the identification of trees, pest and biological diseases of trees; and the mechanical and structural faults of trees
Experience in risk management associated with trees TRAQ
Demonstrated experience in public consultation and conflict resolution skills
Proven ability to create reports that are accurate, clear concise and timely
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team collaboratively
Understanding and commitment to WHS practices and EEO principles
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel)
