Job Description Position: APS5 and APS6 Project Officers Location: Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne or Orange Start date: ASAP Duration: Approx.
3 months with potential to extend Pay rate: APS5: $***** per hour plus 12% super | APS6: $***** per hour plus 12% super Security requirements: Australian Citizenship and minimum Baseline security clearance required at time of appllication Overview: Our Federal Government client is seeking experienced APS5 and APS6 Project Officers to support the design, development and delivery of a significant Post-Incident Review.
Working within a readiness and operational capability environment, the successful candidates will support review activities, stakeholder consultation, project coordination, governance, reporting and lessons management.
The roles will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure review activities and outputs are delivered effectively and within agreed timeframes.
The APS5 position will have a strong focus on project coordination, secretariat support and administration, while the APS6 position will take greater responsibility for managing review activities, stakeholder engagement, analysis, reporting and providing advice.
Responsibilities: APS5 Project Officer: Coordinate project activities, schedules, milestones and review deliverables.
Maintain project plans, action registers, risk logs and governance records.
Prepare agendas, meeting papers, presentations, briefings and other documentation.
Coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops and consultation activities.
Record decisions and action items and monitor their progress through to completion.
Support evidence gathering, information management and preparation of review outputs.
Maintain lessons identified and lessons learned registers and support continuous improvement activities.
Provide broader project, administrative and coordination support as required.
APS6 Project Officer: Develop and manage review work plans, milestones and governance activities.
Monitor project progress,



risks and issues and support appropriate mitigation strategies.
Engage with government agencies, industry stakeholders and service providers.
Represent the team at meetings, workshops and consultation forums.
Manage governance and secretariat activities and prepare high-quality briefs, papers and reporting products.
Analyse information and evidence to identify key themes, issues and potential recommendations.
Draft reports, recommendations, executive submissions and briefing materials.
Support lessons management and continuous improvement activities, including monitoring implementation of recommendations.
Experience/requirements: Demonstrated experience in project coordination, project delivery, governance or similar roles.
Solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Experience coordinating meetings, workshops, consultations and/or secretariat functions.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare professional briefs, reports and project documentation.
Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Experience maintaining project plans, risks, issues, actions and governance documentation.
For APS6 candidates, demonstrated experience analysing complex information, managing project activities and providing advice to senior stakeholders.
Previous experience within the Australian Public Service or a government environment will be highly regarded.
