About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Integrity Engineer to start ASAP for an oil and gas operator that'll be based in a gas processing plant facility in Long Island Point VIC (approximately 45 minutes to 1-hour drive from Melbourne VIC) for a 2 years' contract duration.
This is a 5 days a week, Monday to Friday role based onsite.
The Lead Integrity Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the local integrity team, ensuring the effective design, execution, and continuous improvement of integrity programs across the site.
This role works closely with the Asset Management team to provide technical leadership, drive operational performance, and support the safe and reliable operation of facility assets.
The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering collaboration, delivering strategic integrity initiatives, and enhancing asset reliability through best-practice engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
Focal point for fixed asset (pressure equipment) integrity programs onsite including piping program, pressure vessel inspections, corrosion integrity management and pressure relief valves
Technical oversight including review, evaluation and execution of programs and support to Operations and Maintenance teams
Provide direction to assigned frontline technicians and engineers – set priorities,
communicate goals and drive a respectful and inclusive environment
Demonstrate & promote a sense of ownership and drive continuous improvement through performance KPIs
Maintain working knowledge of relevant safety case requirements and performance standards
Recommend follow up repair / maintenance to piping / pressured equipment, including execution of Management of Change
Troubleshooting, root cause analysis for any bad actor or failure
Conduct Fitness-For-Service evaluations on in service equipment
Ability to learn and adapt to an agile and flexible working workplace, continuously stay abreast of latest developments in industry standards/ practices, bring in learnings/ experience to challenge and improve company work processes/ practices
Skills / Requirements
Degree in mechanical/chemical/materials or related engineering discipline
In-service inspection, fitness for service
Knowledge of materials & corrosion engineering
Non-destructive Evaluation
Risk Based Inspection (RBI)
Strong communication, leadership and business judgment skills
Good interpersonal and influencing skills
Broad knowledge of industry codes & standards including AS, ASME, API, AMPP, BS/ISO
