Practice Information
This practice provides comprehensive primary healthcare services to a rural Queensland community and surrounding areas. Services include general consultations, chronic disease management, health assessments, preventative health, immunisations, women's and men's health, children's health, minor procedures, wound care and care coordination. General Practitioners are supported by experienced nursing and administration staff, with flexibility for longer appointments where clinically required. The practice operates Monday to Friday and uses Best Practice clinical software.
Position Description
The Locum General Practitioner will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary healthcare to patients of all ages. The role involves assessment, diagnosis and treatment, prescribing, chronic disease management, preventative healthcare, health promotion, ordering and reviewing diagnostic tests, and referrals to specialist and allied health services as clinically appropriate.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the nursing and administration team and other healthcare providers to support continuity and coordination of patient care while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and skilled standards.
Position Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM)
Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration
Demonstrated experience and competency in general practice and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred primary healthcare
Current medical indemnity insurance
Current CPR/resuscitation certification
Eligibility to obtain a Medicare Provider Number for the practice location
Valid authority to work in Australia
