Summary:
n
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist specialising in Paediatrics to join the Derbarl team!
n
This role within the Derbarl Kids team involves leading the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe Clinical Psychology services to Aboriginal children and young people aged 0-18 with disabilities, developmental delays and neurodevelopmental differences.
n
This role will work within a multidisciplinary team including Developmental Paediatricians, General Practitioners, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Paediatric Case Officers and Family Support Advocates.
n
This team strives to provide high quality, comprehensive culturally safe clinical care to clients and maintains a focus on best practice family-centred and culturally appropriate care.
n
This will be a Full-time role with a Maximum term contract until the 22nd of December ****.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adolescents.
n
Develop appropriate treatment recommendations based on assessments and where appropriate; engage in the delivery of interventions (including psychoeducation, individual and group therapy).
n
Lead collaborative efforts with other health professionals, including occupational therapists, psychologists, paediatricians, speech pathologists, GPs, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, and other allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
n
Provide case management for clients, through collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, different specialties offered at Derbarl and external service providers, to ensure coordinated care.
n
Act as a clinical resource for complex cases,
providing consultation and support to the multidisciplinary team.
n
Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Clinical Psychologist.
n
Eligibility to apply for a Medicare Provider Number and bill for services rendered
n
Experience providing psychological support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
n
Demonstrated proficiency in clinical psychological assessment, therapy and interview techniques with children, young people and their families
n
Demonstrated understanding of the health, social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
n
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute positively to team culture and service delivery
n
Demonstrated experience and understanding of trauma informed care
n
Previous experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation
n
Experience working with families who experience social, economic or health disadvantage
n
Knowledge of the NDIS and Early Childhood Approach
n
