Community Aged Services Support Worker
to join ourteam on a casual basis to cover staff leave.
About the Role
As a Community Aged Services Support Worker, you willprovide person-centred support that may be provided in the home, within ourSocial Support Group Program, or while a person is accessing other communityservices.
You'll support older adults to maintain living independentlyin their homes for as long as possible by providing quality consumer care andengagement and assistance with daily living activities. You'll also supportolder adults to socially connect with others in the community.
As a casual opportunity, there is flexibility in the shiftsand this is a great opportunity to work in community aged care and be part ofan inclusive and supportive Aged Services Team, with opportunities for careerdevelopment in aged care and the local government sector.
What you'll do
You will accompany consumers to appointments, shoppingtrips, and social activities, including our Social Support Group programs, supportingtheir engagement and participation in the community. In addition, you willprovide personal care such as showering and toileting, assist with domestictasks, and offer respite care as needed. You'll also participate in ongoingtraining, attend team meetings and case consultations, and are expected tomonitor and report any changes in consumer health or safety concerns.
What we're looking for (you will have)
CertificateIII Individual Support (Ageing) (formerly known as Cert III HACC) orequivalent.
Agenuine interest in supporting older people and people with disabilities.
Abilityto work independently and as part of a team.
Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibilityto work across various service areas and locations.
Own car with full comprehensiveinsurance.
Pre-employment requirements
Driver's Licence (comfortable with driving a10-seater minibus on occasion if required)
CPR and Level 2 First Aid certificates.
Functional Capacity Assessment.
Working with Children's check.
Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
Council will also screen candidates inaccordance with the AgedCare Quality & Safety Commission Banning Orders as part of pre-employmentverification.
