The Opportunity: Full-Time | Fixed-Term contract of employment until 31 December ****.
TL $90,879 - $128,887 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Waverley Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.
Holmesglen's Hospitality, Cookery and Patisserie Department offers a progressive and supportive teaching environment with strong industry connections and partnerships.
Based at our Glen Waverley campus, you'll work in purpose-built, fully operational training facilities, including commercial kitchens and the Zest Restaurant.
The department delivers nationally accredited programs, and industry skill sets across hospitality, cookery, kitchen management, patisserie and bakery.
As a Culinary Teacher, you'll use your industry experience to inspire and develop the next generation of hospitality professionals.
You'll design and deliver engaging, practical training and assessment, develop high-quality learning resources, and support students throughout their learning journey.
You'll have the opportunity to tailor your teaching to diverse learner needs while helping students build the practical skills and confidence they need to succeed in industry.
You'll also work closely with colleagues, industry and key stakeholders to keep training relevant and connected to current industry practice, while contributing to course coordination and broader departmental initiatives.




This is a hands-on and rewarding opportunity for an experienced culinary professional who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and making a genuine impact on students' careers.
As Teacher – Culinary, you will: Develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies and methodologies to meet and support the diverse needs of students, fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students including those of diverse cultures, backgrounds and abilities.
Develop high-quality teaching resources and assessment materials and teach in a range of agreed units, subjects and courses in a variety of learning modes and across a range of locations.
Liaise as appropriate with industry and the community to develop and customise training appropriate to client requirements.
Participate in the delivery of teaching and educational services to industry including workplace visits, assessment of training needs, development of training plans and the effective delivery of courses.
Provide pre-course advice to students and participate in student selection, induction and marketing events such as Open Days, Information nights and Expos.
Provide or arrange additional educational support for individual students as identified in the pre-training review and plan, implement and evaluate teaching and learning strategies to support student progress.
Contribute to departmental evaluation and continuous improvement processes, participate in student administration procedures and undertake operational duties associated with course development, marketing and delivery.
To be successful, you'll have: An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed; and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE ***** or TAE***** or TAE*****) or its successor; or An approved diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training; or A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials:



- TAESS***** Assessor Skill Set, or - TAESS***** Assessor Skill Set or its successor, or - TAESS***** VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor.
SIT***** Certificate IV in Kitchen Management Current licences necessary to practice, or registration and/or membership of a relevant industry association where applicable.
Will be considered: SIT***** Certificate III in Commercial Cookery WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian 'employee' Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
