Key Responsibilities

Support site operations to meet environmental obligations and promote environmentally responsible work practices
n
Assist in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of environmental management systems, standards and procedures
n
Coordinate and support environmental monitoring programs in accordance with licences, approvals and statutory requirements
n
Assist with the collection, analysis and reporting of environmental monitoring data
n
Support environmental compliance activities including inspections, audits, incident investigations and management of non-compliances
n
Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory, regulatory and company environmental reports
n
Assist in obtaining and maintaining environmental approvals, permits, licences and management plans
n
Support the development and implementation of environmental risk and hazard management systems
n
Assist in the planning, implementation and monitoring of rehabilitation and mine closure activities
n
Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation
n
Support engagement with regulators, government agencies, contractors and other stakeholders
n
Contribute to environmental improvement projects and initiatives across the operation
n

About You
n
You will be a proactive and safety-focused graduate who is eager to develop technical expertise and build a long-term career in environmental management within the mining industry.
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability and Development, or other relevant environmental disciplines
n
Some relevant industry experience or exposure to environmental management
n
Demonstrated commitment to developing skills and experience in environmental management and the mining industry
n
Sound understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory responsibilities




n
Understanding of mining operations and associated environmental risks and impacts
n
Solid organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
n
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
n
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business
n
Experience with environmental monitoring, compliance reporting or rehabilitation activities will be highly regarded
n

Please note this is a site-based role working Monday to Friday at Rix's Creek near Singleton.
