About the Role
As a Fitter in our Tomago Workshop, you will be responsible for the repair, refurbishment, assembly and maintenance of a wide range of mining equipment and components. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople and leaders who are committed to helping you grow your skills and progress your career.
This role reports to the Workshop Supervisor and offers the opportunity to work in a modern workshop environment with a strong focus on safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out assembly, overhaul and repair of mechanical equipment and components
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Diagnose equipment issues and identify practical solutions
Complete quality inspections and ensure work is completed to Metso standards
Work collaboratively with workshop, planning and engineering teams
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workshop safety




Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute to a positive team culture and support fellow team members
What We're Looking For
Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and a positive attitude
Current driver's licence
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
