At Red Bank Veterinary Hospital - Hillsborough, you'll join a growing specialty hospital that combines advanced medicine, collaboration, and work-life balance in a supportive and team-focused environment. We are seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Surgeon who is excited about practicing high-quality surgery while working alongside an experienced group of specialists and emergency clinicians.
Since moving into our state-of-the-art facility in ****, RBVH Hillsborough has continued to expand its specialty services while maintaining a culture centered on teamwork, clinical excellence, and employee well-being. You'll work closely with specialists in Emergency & Critical Care and Cardiology, as well as collaborate with our existing surgical team and colleagues at Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals in Tinton Falls and Mount Laurel. For candidates interested in a broader clinical footprint, there may also be opportunities to collaborate with our sister hospital, Northfield Veterinary Center.
Our modern facility was thoughtfully designed to optimize patient care and clinician efficiency, featuring a highly functional doctor command center, 16-slice CT scanner, digital radiography, ultrasound, telemetry, two advanced surgical suites, and dedicated specialty resources. The anticipated starting base salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $240,000 to $300,000 per year.
In your day-to-day, you will:
Balance your time between surgical consultations, advanced diagnostic workups, operative procedures, and post-operative patient management to deliver exceptional patient care.
Perform a broad range of orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures utilizing advanced imaging, CT, radiography, ultrasound, and modern surgical equipment.
Collaborate closely with Emergency & Critical Care, Cardiology, and specialty teams across the Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals network to support integrated case management and optimize patient outcomes.
Utilize advanced hospital resources including a 16-slice CT scanner, telemetry, digital radiography, ultrasound, and dedicated surgical suites to support surgical planning and treatment.
Help shape and grow the surgical service in line with hospital priorities, referral demand, and long-term strategic growth initiatives.
Work alongside a dedicated surgical nursing and support team committed to efficiency, collaboration, and outstanding patient care.
Build trusted relationships with referring veterinarians through consultation, communication, and collaborative case management.
Guide pet owners through surgical recommendations, treatment options, recovery expectations,
and long-term outcomes with empathy, transparency, and confidence.
Mentor technicians, assistants, interns, and support staff while fostering a culture of learning, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Contribute to a cooperative hospital environment focused on clinical excellence, innovation, professional growth, and exceptional patient outcomes.
What You Bring
DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
Board Certification in Surgery (DACVS-SA) or Residency Trained in Small Animal Surgery.
Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
