Job Description
Epworth HealthCare (Epworth) seeks enthusiastic Registered Nurses with recent acute hospital experience, to join our high performing and highly valued Central Resource Unit (CRU), working in a casual capacity.
The CRU provides a flexible workforce to support Epworth clinical units. Based in Geelong, you can also accept shifts in our Melbourne Hospitals giving you a wide choice of sites and specialities available.
This is a casual role and we are also hiring permanently into CRU.
With the support of a dedicated CRU educator and courses available through our unique Nursing & Midwifery Academy, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills by working across a wide variety of specialities including:
orthopaedics
urology
colorectal
vascular
general surgery
ENT
gynaecology
plastics
neurosurgery
complex pain management
general medical/oncology
inpatient rehabilitation
You will make an impact by:
Delivering an exceptional patient experience
Providing high standards of nursing care
Encouraging and role-modelling empathy to patients, families and medical staff
To be successful in this role, you will:
Have a contemporary knowledge of best practice in surgical and medical nursing care and the patient journey.
Have recency of practice in acute hospital setting
Have excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
Be teachable and have a willingness to learn and grow professionally
Enjoy the challenge of working flexibly within a team environment.
Possess a strong understanding and background of patient-centred care




Have the ability to maintain a high level of communication with patients, staff, and visitors.
Have well-developed time management and prioritisation skills

Qualifications
A current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
Have completed a Graduate Year (by commencement of work) or had 12 months of relevant experience since graduation.
Possess a current Working with Children Check (Employee)
