About the role
Bio Gro is seeking a full-time, dedicated Sales Agronomist to join our Agriculture Division. The position can be based in either the Lower Southeast of South Australia or Southwest Victoria, with the role supported by our headquarters in Mount Gambier, South Australia.
Regular travel throughout South Australia and Victoria will be required, working directly with growers, agronomists, retailers and agricultural businesses.
Reporting to the Agricultural Sales Manager,
the successful applicant will be responsible for developing strong customer relationships, providing practical agronomic expertise, identifying agricultural opportunities, driving industry-based research and development, and supporting the adoption and sales of Bio Gro's agricultural products.
The role will work closely with growers, agronomists and agricultural retail partners to develop practical agronomic programs and models that demonstrate how Bio Gro products can be incorporated into existing farming systems. The position will also play an important role in product development, field trials, research and innovation across Bio Gro's agricultural markets.
As the Sales Agronomist you will be responsible for
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with agricultural customers, growers, agronomists and industry stakeholders
Identifying and developing current sales opportunities across South Australia and Victoria
Providing practical, commercially relevant agronomic recommendations that increase the adoption of Bio Gro products into farming systems
Developing agronomic models and application programs that demonstrate the role of Bio Gro products within pasture, broadacre, horticultural and viticultural production systems
Identifying and driving R&D; opportunities with external industry partners, growers and key stakeholders
Developing,
coordinating and managing agricultural trials, demonstrations and research projects
Using field research, trial results and grower feedback to support product development, innovation and improved product applications
Converting agronomic and research opportunities into sustainable sales growth
Supporting agricultural retail and distribution partners through technical product knowledge, grower engagement and account management
Developing Bio Gro's presence across pasture, broadacre and horticultural markets, with a focus on intensive cropping, including potatoes, onions and carrots
About you
Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Horticulture or related discipline
Strong agronomic knowledge and experience engaging with growers and agricultural customers
Demonstrated ability to develop practical agronomic recommendations and integrate products into farming systems
Experience coordinating agricultural trials, demonstrations and field research
Commercial awareness and an understanding of how agronomic outcomes translate into grower value and sales opportunities
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout South Australia and Victoria
Strong communication, relationship management and organisational skills
Highly developed ability to work in a team environment and collaboratively achieve results
Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work
Minimum 4 years' experience in field-based agricultural or agronomic roles
