This is a highly specialised role sitting at the intersection of cyber investigations, incident response and threat intelligence. You'll be the person we turn to when something doesn't look right. Whether it's investigating a sophisticated security incident, analysing suspicious activity, uncovering the root cause of an attack or helping improve our forensic readiness,
you'll play a critical role in protecting Pepperstone and our clients. Working closely with our Security Operations team, you'll have exposure across cloud platforms, endpoints, networks and SaaS environments, helping shape how we detect, investigate and respond to evolving threats. As our Security Forensics Engineer, your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Lead and support digital forensic investigations across a modern technology estate spanning cloud, endpoint, network and SaaS environments
Investigate cybersecurity and fraud-related incidents, preserving and analysing digital evidence in line with forensic best practices
Perform root cause analysis to understand attack pathways, impact and opportunities for improvement
Analyse malware, phishing campaigns and adversary techniques to support incident response activities
Partner with Security Operations teams on threat hunting and proactive detection initiatives
Continuously enhance forensic processes, playbooks and tooling to improve investigative capabilities
Produce clear investigation reports and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders
Support legal, regulatory and external investigation requirements when needed
About you
We're interested in people who bring a strong investigative mindset and a passion for cybersecurity. You might come from a digital forensics, incident response, cyber investigations or security operations background. Experience conducting cyber investigations, digital forensics or incident response activities Strong understanding of forensic methodologies across Windows, Linux, macOS and cloud environments Experience working with security telemetry, endpoint artefacts, network data and log analysis Exposure to SIEM technologies and detection engineering concepts Knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques and procedures, including frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a highly structured approach to investigations The ability to translate technical findings into clear business outcomes and recommendations
